COMPANY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

The "Policies On Disk" software was researched and developed by Mickey Michaels, B.A., M.A., M.B.A. Mickey has two degrees in psychology from the University of Michigan, plus a master's in business from the University of Texas. She understands human behavior, what people need and what motivates them, plus she knows the realities of running a business. She has over 30 years' experience as employee and employer, underling and executive, business owner and business consultant. She understands the wants and needs of employers and employees, from "both sides of the fence".

Mickey has spent the past few years thoroughly researching employment law and has combined that with her psychology training and business experience, to develop employee policies that give business owners all the protection they need under the law, while making employees feel appreciated and supported and motivating them to put forth their best efforts.

Some highlights of her career include:

• Research Director for a nationally known banking consulting firm
• Vice President of a national market research and consulting firm
• President and Owner of her own market research firm
• Owner/operator with her husband of a small business in Colorado

Over the years, she has been active in a variety of business and professional organizations, including: Chamber of Commerce, CEO Network, Society for Human Resource Management, American Society for Training and Development, Entrepreneurs' Association, and Landmark Education. She has conducted management seminars on a variety of business issues and has taught community college classes for business owners on marketing, management, and planning.

She currently operates a consulting business based in Austin, Texas. This is, by design, a one-person operation with very low overhead so that she can offer small and mid-size businesses services they need at a price they can afford. She was formerly State Chairman of the Human Resources Committee of Small Business United of Texas.
